Tuesday January 17th, the JV Lady Broncos soccer team showed up at the Bronco Stadium to play against Baytown Sterling Rangers. The game ended with a 5-0 victory for the Rangers. After the first half, the score board showed 3-0. Two more points were added in the second half.
The Broncos played a good game, but unfortunately they got defeated. One of the midfield players, Jessica Martinez stated “It was an interesting game even though we lost.” Despite the fact that they lost, doesn’t stop them from practicing and working hard until their next game. The Broncos has good team spirit and makes always sure to help each other keep their head up and encourage each other.
I also asked Martinez what made her want to play soccer and she told me that her brothers played soccer as well and that inspired her to do the same. Martinez has been playing soccer for two years, which means she has been with the Lady Broncos soccer since day 1 of the program. Two years is a long time, but Martinez is far from tired of the sport and is planning on playing for the Lady Broncos her senior year too. I asked her about what her expectations for the rest of the year is and she stated “I hope that we will show a lot of progress and play good together as a team.”
