What is Dual Credit Texas?

Dual Credit Texas is the new system of education which allows a high school student to enroll in college level classes, and earn college credits, but also earning credits for their high school graduation track. These courses at many high schools in Texas have math, English, geography, and biology dual credit courses that allow for the student to gain College Credit.

Why should you take Dual Credit classes?

A student should enroll in Dual Credit classes due to all of the opportunities this course opens up to your future self. This allows for more classes that YOU would like to take in college and less of the courses you don’t want to take.  This way it takes less time to get your degree because some of the classes have already been taken and accredited for in your high school.

Counselor’s Opinions on Dual Credit…

We interviewed Mrs. Wood in the counselor’s office and asked her a few questions about Dual Credit. We asked her how she felt about the Dual Credit program and how much do you feel it helps students and she responded with “I feel this program tremendously helps students with a major discount on classes with a more familiar atmosphere and a more comfortable environment with a lot of teachers you know and a lot more of your fellow classmates to support you.
